Introduction

Page load time can vary among service providers.  We wanted to measure how fast Kibbles servers were compared to more popular hosting options.

Why is it important

In the age where pages load quickly, if YOUR page loads slowly on a visitor's web browser, they may become frustrated and leave before they read your message.  This is called the "bounce rate."  

If you are paying for Adwords, then each clicks costs you money, so having a higher bounce rate is ineffective.  If your Adwords budget is high enough, then there can be a large loss due to a slow service.

What we did

We migrated a customer's web site from GoDaddy to our Kibbles server.  In the process of moving the site, we noticed the site ran considerably faster on our server.  So we set out to find out how much faster.

Before Kibbles

Before the migration, we used Safari's measurement facilities to observe page load time.  The screen capture shows about 2.9 seconds to load the page.

After the migration, we performed the same test using the same page.  The screen capture shows the page loads in just under 1 second!
